Guy Chandler Fulton (October 27, 1892 – October 15, 1974) was an American architect known for his work on numerous buildings at the University of Florida while he was State Architect of Florida. ==Early life== Fulton was born in Warsaw, Illinois to Perry A Fulton and Luella ‘Lulu’ Chandler,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.digikron.com/thom/wc64/wc64_301.htm )〕 but attended Keokuk High School in Iowa. After graduation, he was accepted at the University of Illinois, where he studied architecture. He graduated in 1916 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, then served in the U.S. Army in World War I from 1917 to 1919. After the war, Fulton gained experience working for various firms in the midwest. Fulton married the former Shirley Holmes about 1922,〔 but the couple had no children. He read about the Florida land boom of the 1920s and recognized an opportunity. The couple moved to Florida and he secured a job in the Florida State Architect's office as a draftsman in 1926.〔 Around that time, he was commissioned to design the springhouse and spring-fed pool at Glen Springs in Gainesville.
